A rare thing happened to me whilst on holiday in January 2019 in Las Vegas. On a cold but still sunny evening, at the Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas, one block from the Fremont Street Experience, I caught the Unicow. If you’re a slot machine aficionado like myself, then you’ll know just how big a deal this is.

In other words, it’s only valid when it appears as part of a 5 of a kind win. Those wins are rare enough, and when combined with the fact there’s only one Unicow present on the fifth reel, the odds of hitting it are many thousands to one – and possibly higher.
When the Unicow does hit, you’ll know. Firstly you get a big picture of the Unicow on the screen, letting you know of your amazing luck.
Then the game goes into a haywire override mode with cows going into the ship transporter beam, and being activated. The Unicow it seems never comes alone – it brings its friends, like Moolah cow, Drop in Wilds cow, and the simple but effective Wild cow. All of the captured cows are then proessed by the slot machine game – and in my case this ended up generating 200 free games, with added bonuses like drop in wilds.
The game play from that point was great. It took about 20 minutes to play all of the free games, as I hit other free game combinations along the way – so likely played about 240 free games in all. It was great fun watching all of the winning combinations send cash to my machine cash balance. By the end I’d turned a 70c spin into over $400. My one gripe? I should have been playing higher value spins! But hindsight is a wonderful thing, and up until that point the slot machine had been taking cash from me – so I’d reduced my spinning bet size down. I was still VERY happy with the result.
